Lynda Carey is the Executive Director of the BGC Riverview. She joined this passionate team in November of 2008 and has not looked back. She has worked for national and international businesses for over 20 years in operations and management capacities but has finally found the reason to get up and go to work. “This is a joy, not a job” is a comment she has been heard to say many times. In the past 16 years, Lynda has worked with the BGC National Peer Review Committee and is also a contributing member of the BGC of Canada Operational Excellence Committee which is committed to ensuring that all clubs meet the required standard of operations that will ultimately provide a strong, safe and secure setting for all children and youth in their care. Recently she has become a member of the Greater Moncton ED Collaborative Network and enjoys working in tandem with other non profit organizations in the area. In more recent years, Lynda has proudly accepted the honorable recognition of the National Canada 150 Commuity Leader Award, and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Community Service. She has completed the LMI Canada Total Leader Series of training and loves to share this knowledge with staff and peers alike to help build better organizations.
Lynda was born and raised in Riverview. She attended Mount Allison University and, after a few years of living in Fredericton, moved back to Riverview. Lynda has two sons, Johnathon and Adam who are both Riverview residents and Club alumni. In January, she will become a grandmother for the first time and has already started shopping. She and her husband Vaughn love to rescue and adopt senior dogs to give them a wonderful and peaceful end of life. |

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton: Igniting Potential Through Mentorship
Jan 08, 2025 7:00 PM
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton, our mission is to ignite the power and potential of young people through life-changing mentoring relationships. As part of the national Big Brothers Big Sisters network, we are proud to be one of over 95 agencies across Canada dedicated to empowering youth by fostering meaningful, developmental connections.
Our mentoring programs offer a unique opportunity to build resilience, expand social capital, and empower underserved communities. Mentorship provides youth with consistent, supportive relationships while helping them develop essential skills to navigate life’s challenges and thrive. With the help of trained volunteer mentors, our programs create a solid foundation of support for youth facing adversity.
