In 2025, homelessness and food insecurity in the Greater Moncton area have reached record highs. Families, youth, and seniors alike are increasingly struggling to access basic shelter, warm meals, and mental health support. At the heart of this crisis is a call for dignity, compassion, and real community solutions—values our Rotary Club has embraced through direct action.

Since 2022, our Rotary Club has partnered with The Humanity Project, volunteering weekly to serve meals to those in need. This hands-on service has deepened our focus on vulnerable and marginalized individuals in our region.

The JOSH Project—named in memory of Joshua, who died while living on the street—is a grassroots initiative offering transitional housing, mental health support, and employment pathways. It transforms grief into a tangible model of hope, community, and reintegration.

🔹 Rotary Club Support Highlights

  • Weekly meal service since 2022
  • Ongoing in-kind and financial contributions
  • May 2025: Completed our first Rotary District Grant of $5,000 to purchase fitness, art, and music therapy equipment for residents in recovery
  • Preparing a Rotary Global Grant to expand services and sustainability

🌍 Projet JOSH – Un engagement rotarien pour un impact local durable

En 2025, l’itinérance et l’insécurité alimentaire atteignent des niveaux critiques dans le Grand Moncton. Les familles, les jeunes et les aînés peinent à accéder à un logement décent et à une alimentation de base. Le besoin de dignité humaine, de compassion et de solutions communautaires est urgent.

Depuis 2022, notre Club Rotary est fier de servir chaque semaine au Humanity Project. Notre implication directe auprès des personnes vulnérables a renforcé notre engagement à long terme.

Le Projet JOSH, fondé en mémoire de Joshua, offre un hébergement temporaire, un soutien en santé mentale et des occasions d’intégration par le travail. Il s’agit d’un modèle humain et reproductible.

🔹 Le soutien du Club Rotary

  • Service hebdomadaire de repas depuis 2022
  • Soutien régulier matériel et financier
  • Mai 2025 : Subvention de district de 5 000 $ pour du matériel thérapeutique (art, musique, mise en forme)
  • Préparation d’une subvention mondiale pour élargir les services

  • Logement de transition : Sécurisé et encadré 24/7
  • Sécurité alimentaire : Repas gratuits et nutritifs tous les jours
  • Santé mentale et pairs aidants : Encadrement basé sur l’expérience vécue
  • Formation et travail : Jardinage, cuisine, mentorat
